My Brightest Sky (Song for Jace)

Heartfelt love song for firstborn son Jace

[Verse 1] I still remember holding you that night A tiny heartbeat in the morning light Before you came, the world felt so wide Then everything changed with you by my side Tiny little fingers curled around my hand The greatest love that I would ever understand [Chorus] Oh Jace, my sweet firstborn son My whole world shifted when your life begun Through every high and every fall I’ll always catch you through it all No matter how the years may fly You’ll always be my brightest sky [Verse 2] I watch you grow and learn to walk alone With a gentle heart that's all your own Every little smile and the questions you ask Watching you dream is my favorite task You made me stronger than I used to be You gave a brand new purpose back to me [Chorus] Oh Jace, my sweet firstborn son My whole world shifted when your life begun Through every high and every fall I’ll always catch you through it all No matter how the years may fly You’ll always be my brightest sky [Bridge] One day you'll spread your wings and fly away To chase your dreams wherever they may sway Just remember who you are, brave and kind And know you leave a gentle light behind [Chorus] Oh Jace, my sweet firstborn son My whole world shifted when your life begun Through every high and every fall I’ll always catch you through it all No matter how the years may fly You’ll always be my brightest sky [Outro] My firstborn boy, my guiding light Sleep sweet tonight, sleep tight Jace, my forever son.
