Bunny bedtime story: Benny's Meadow Lullaby
Beneath the glowing twilight, little Benny Bunny just can't sleep. Clutching his beloved carrot pillow, he sets out into the meadow to whisper goodnight to his friends. But when a sudden breeze causes trouble in the brambles, can a little bunny's gentle song bring peace to the wide-awake world?
Benny's Meadow Lullaby
Little Benny hugs his carrot pillow tight-tight.
Outside, a cricket goes chirp-chirp-zing!
Benny wiggles his cold toes.
"Where is my sleep?" he whispers.
Benny hops outside with his bright lantern.
He yawns a squeaky "Ooooh!"
Softly, he hums:
"Hush-a-hush, stars ignite;
tuck in tight and say goodnight."
Daisy Duckling splashes with cold webbed feet.
Splash, splash!
Benny snuggles her close to warm her toes.
"Hush-a-hush, stars ignite;
tuck in tight and say goodnight."
Mama Badger rocks three wiggly cubs.
Benny leans against her cozy sweater.
He lets out a sleepy "Ooooh!"
Mama Badger yawns a big, rumbling yawn, too.
Pip the cricket plays his loud fiddle.
Zing-zing! He hops so fast!
Whoosh! A gust of wind blows.
Benny’s carrot pillow flies into the brambles.
Pip shivers in the quiet dark.
Benny has no pillow, but he is brave.
He hugs tiny Pip soft and warm.
"You are safe with me."
Pip plays a slow, sweet lullaby.
Mama Badger brings Benny's pillow back.
They all whisper together:
"Hush-a-hush, stars ignite;
tuck in tight and say goodnight."
Benny cuddles under his soft blanket.
Pip sleeps in Benny’s warm slipper.
Heavy eyelids close.
Love tucks the whole world in.
Sweet dreams, little meadow.
